Quality Engineer

Location: Richfield, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to help maintain and continuously improve the systems that ensure our mission-critical defense components meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. In this role, you’ll partner across contracts, manufacturing, and inspection teams to strengthen our Quality Management System (QMS), analyze quality data, and support corrective and preventive actions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, technical problem-solving, and working in a regulated defense manufacturing environment where quality directly supports national and global security.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Partner with Contracts and Engineering teams to address customer quality inquiries and requirements.
  • Participate in contract reviews and define quality requirements, ensuring proper flow-down to suppliers.
  • Apply working knowledge of NAVSEA Technical Publications (-248, -271, -278, and -1688).
  • Analyze quality metrics and inspection data; present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and material review board (MRB) dispositions.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Plans aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret GD&T to inspect mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as required to support inspections.
  • Provide technical guidance to inspectors on drawings, specifications, and measurement techniques.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and adhere to all safety, health, and environmental requirements.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

(These are required for consideration.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing and quality inspection environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years supporting defense or government-regulated programs.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Proven ability to follow and enforce specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

(These are preferred but not required.)
  • Experience working with NAVSEA programs or Navy shipbuilding/repair standards.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM programming and advanced metrology techniques.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.
  • Experience participating in audits, customer inspections, or government surveillance.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Schedule: 4x10
