Project Risk Specialist

We’re seeking a seasoned Risk Specialist with a strong background in risk identification and mitigation within the utility sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects are resilient, well-managed, and aligned with our strategic goals. You’ll be the go-to expert for maintaining risk registers, facilitating risk workshops, and collaborating closely with cost managers to align contingency planning and forecasting.

This is a remote role in the New England region.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies across utility-related projects
• Maintain and update comprehensive risk registers throughout project lifecycles
• Facilitate risk workshops with cross-functional teams to surface and address potential issues
• Collaborate with cost managers to ensure risk, contingency, and forecast alignment
• Provide expert guidance on risk best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate risk insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Business, Accounting, or Project Management
• 10 years of applicable work experience in project risk management, ideally within the utility or infrastructure space
• Proven ability to lead risk workshops and drive actionable outcomes
• Strong understanding of cost management principles and how they intersect with risk
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with risk tools and software (e.g., @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, etc.) is a plus

Benefits & Salary

• This position pays between $140,000 and $165,000 annually and is an exempt position.
• Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
• Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
• May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
