Entravision Palm Springs has an immediate opening for a Multi-Media Journalist.
This position is a hybrid role; You will start your day assisting in production for the morning newscasts, including video editing, operating studio cameras, running audio and floor directing. Following the newscast, you will transition to reporting in the field.
We are a small but mighty newsroom in a great high-profile market a couple hours east of Los Angeles. We prioritize community over crime and stories that empower and inform the audience. And we’re reporting in English on NBC Palm Springs and in Spanish on Univision Palm Springs. The person we hire will be fully bilingual.
Essential Functions
- Creates multimedia content for multi-platform distribution (TV & digital).
- Shoots, writes, edits and presents daily stories.
- Responds swiftly to breaking news and changing assignments and is ready to report LIVE on TV and digital as directed.
- Collaborates with newsroom colleagues on stories and once assigned, conceptualizes, organizes and executes story assignments.
- Develops and maintains contacts in the community that lead to stories that aren’t covered elsewhere.
- Assists the Assignment Editor and producers in finding and executing enterprise news coverage, investigations, and stories that matter to the audience we serve.
- Embraces the role of station ambassador, representing the stations in the community and at events.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or related field preferred.
- Must be bilingual; Fluent in both English and Spanish (high level of reading, writing, and speaking both languages is essential).
- Reporting, shooting, writing, and editing experience preferred.
- Informed and abreast of news events and issues, both locally and nationally.
- Knowledge of iNews and Adobe Premiere editing software preferred.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full-Time position. Actual schedule and hours will vary. Must be willing to work overnights, weekends and holidays.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Reports directly to News Director
