In the U.S., we collaborate with the three largest cinema chains—AMC, Regal, and Cinemark—giving us extensive access to theaters nationwide. This enables us to connect directly with movie audiences, ensuring that we capture authentic and timely responses.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a New Movie Researcher for our flagship research location in the Sacramento area, the Cinemark Century Arden 13 and XD theater, located at 1590 Ethan Way, Sacramento, CA 95825. Note we also occasionally do research at the SMG Rocklin theater (5140 Commons Dr, Rocklin, CA 95677) as well. While traveling to SMG Rocklin is not mandatory, individuals with the ability to go to both locations will have a leg up!

In this role, you will approach patrons to secure their opinions on newly released or upcoming movies. We're looking for confident, outgoing individuals with open weekend availability and some weekday flexibility. Solid pop culture knowledge and a great sense of humor are highly desirable! This is a permanent part-time position.

Typical Shifts:

  • Thursdays: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (We work 90% of Thursdays)
  • Fridays: Either 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM or 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM (We work 100% of Fridays)
  • Saturdays: Either 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (We work 100% of Saturdays)
  • Sundays: Either 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM (We work about 50% of Sundays)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with theater-goers to gather feedback on movies and trailers.
  • Maintain a friendly and persuasive demeanor while approaching strangers.
  • Accurately record responses and meet set goals.
  • Utilize basic computer functions and demonstrate strong typing skills.
  • Ensure punctuality and attention to detail in all tasks.

Requirements:

  • Weekend availability is a must (90% of work is conducted Thursday - Sunday).
  • Reliable transportation to work.
  • Personable and persuasive personality.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers.
  • Ability to stay motivated throughout your shift.
  • Polished speech and appearance.
  • Ability to understand and meet numerical targets.
  • Familiarity with basic computer functions and strong typing skills.
  • Punctuality and attention to detail.
