ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is looking for a Social Coordinator to join our social media team.  This team plays a vital role in building new audiences for ET and ensuring we remain a top pop culture and entertainment news brand, no matter what platform. The right candidate must understand Facebook and how to engage ET’s Facebook audience. You will play a key role in continuing to build out social video strategy primarily on Facebook, but you will also gain experience working on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. 

For this role, you must also have good news judgment and be able to identify viral stories that are part of the pop culture conversation. You must be able to move fast, work under tight deadlines, pivot quickly and write compelling copy. You must also be a proactive team player with clear communication skills and the drive to be the best in this field. 

This is an LA-based position with a hybrid schedule from ET's offices and pay rate is $23/hour.  

Responsibilities: 

• Assist in the building of daily social video calendar for ET’s social media platforms from content selection to post creation. 
• Provide ongoing insights and strategic recommendations to build community and increase engagement. 
• Help the vertical video team to understand what works on Facebook and specialize in vertical video publishing on Facebook. 
• Implement an authentic, fun and compelling brand voice. 
• Will include occasional or scheduled shifts that require night and weekend work around big events. 

Qualifications: 

• A journalism background in a digital newsroom, specifically 1 years working in social or digital media. Strong internships or personal experience is applicable as well. 
• Strong writing skills. 
• Understand and use various social media platforms. 
• Some experience or understanding of using social content management systems. 
• Basic experience with Photoshop or basic graphic design skills. 
• Good news judgment; we are looking for a person who won’t settle for second place in the constant race for news-making information and interviews. 
• A strong attention to detail. 
• A love of all things pop culture and celebrity news. 
• The ability to multitask and flexibility to re-prioritize duties based on breaking news.
