Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in psychiatric and long-term care to provide comprehensive patient-centered nursing services in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, and behavioral health challenges.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications and injections following aseptic techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Manage complex care needs such as IV infusions, ventilator support, tube feeding, ostomy care, and wound management including suturing.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging procedures like sonography or mammography.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
- Proven experience in psychiatric nursing or long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation standards compliant with NCQA standards.
- Experience working with patients requiring complex interventions such as neurovascular procedures (e.g., cardiac catheterization), infectious disease care, or trauma medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
