Job Summary

We are hiring for a janitorial/cleaning PART TIME position for the Lake Wales High School here in Lake Wales. Ideally we are looking to hire someone with experience but can accommodate to give someone with no experience a chance. The position is from 4 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Friday. Our schedule runs along side the Polk County School Board teacher/student schedule in terms of what days we work. For the moment it is a Part Time.

Staring 17.00$ an hour.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal.
• Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy objects, moving furniture, and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
• Maintain sanitation standards through regular trash removal, disinfecting surfaces, and ensuring restrooms are stocked with supplies.
• Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers, vacuums, and industrial cleaning tools to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
• Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups in residential or commercial settings, and general upkeep of the premises.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to promote a secure environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings demonstrating familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and visitors.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools isn welcomed.
• Basic understanding of facilities maintenance tasks and their completion.
