Intern Job Description
Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:
- Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
- Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
- Preparing operational one-line drawings
- Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
- Managing projects that are in construction
- Completion of as-built documentation
- Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
- Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
- Responding to equipment failures
- Support lab testing and operations
- Transmission Substation and Line database management
- Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations
- Travel may be required for the position
- Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering from a four-year institution for the duration of the internship.
- Candidates who will be classified as a junior or beyond at the time of hire are preferred.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
