Role Description The Radiation Protection Technician role is a part-time, on-site position located in Natchez, MS. This role is responsible for monitoring radiation levels in work areas, performing routine and special surveys, and ensuring compliance with radiation protection procedures and regulatory requirements. The technician will support radiological work planning, provide job coverage for activities involving radioactive materials, and assist in implementing contamination control and dose reduction measures. Daily tasks include operating radiation detection instruments, maintaining accurate records, supporting personnel dosimetry programs, and communicating radiological conditions to workers and supervisors. The technician will collaborate with other site teams to promote a strong safety culture and adherence to radiation protection standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiation protection principles, radiological controls, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., NRC, OSHA).
- Experience with radiation detection instruments, survey techniques, and radiological monitoring in industrial or nuclear environments.
