Job Overview
Entera Healthcare is seeking a strong, experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. This role reports directly to the Administrator and Director of Nursing (DON) and plays a critical part in overseeing clinical operations across home health, hospice, and senior care services. We are looking for a dynamic leader with deep knowledge of home health compliance, processes, and procedures, including initial assessments, SOC (Start of Care), and all regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality patient care, maintain compliance with Medicare and state regulations, and lead nursing staff effectively. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems AXXCESS, HIPAA standards, and documentation review is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily nursing operations across home health, hospice, and senior care programs.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, ensuring optimal staffing levels and quality care delivery.
- Oversee development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Medicare regulations, HIPAA privacy rules, and state licensing standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient services and monitor progress using EMR/EHR systems.
- Review medical records and documentation for completeness and regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership in managing patient care processes, including initial assessments, SOC, and all required procedures.
- Facilitate staff training on medical terminology, compliance protocols, and best practices in nursing administration.
- Support MDS assessments to optimize reimbursement and quality metrics.
- Lead shift management to ensure smooth operations and continuity of care.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health, hospice, or senior care environments.
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience with a track record of team development.
- In-depth knowledge of home health compliance, Medicare regulations, HIPAA standards, and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical record management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to patient care.
- Ability to manage shifts effectively and maintain high-quality outcomes.
