CNC Machinist

DESCRIPTION:

The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, and maintain CNC mill/lathe equipment to manufacture precision parts to meet certain requirements.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides operation and set up of manual/CNC HAAS mills/lathes.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally with calipers or micrometers to assure conformance to requirements. This could also include the inspection of parts from other vendors that will require the use of FARO gage plus CMM unit.
• Cleans and maintains machinery and maintains a safe and clean work area as necessary.
• Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely manner.
• Performs other functions as required.
• Performs program edits and corrections as necessary.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum education requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum experience: 1-2 years machine shop experience in all phases of machining, CNC mill/lathe experience is preferable.
• Specialized knowledge: Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints. Ability to work with precision parts to very close tolerances. Able to use micrometers and calipers to measure critical features. Able to read and understand CNC G code and make adjustments as necessary.
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

TOOLS:

This position does require the use of various tools. 

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• This is a full-time position. First shift hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma (required)
• College or Technical certificates (preferred)
• two to five years of related experience
