Facilities Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in BAS, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, or an advanced degree.
• Strong experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Hands-on Tridium Niagara experience is required, including BAS engineering, programming, commissioning, or system integration.
• Experience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Strong project management skills, including managing contractors, vendors, budgets, and project milestones.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Experience with CMMS and documenting maintenance activities, root cause, and resolutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with facilities teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily to U.S. facilities in CO, AZ, and CA; occasional travel to Tijuana may be required.
• Ability to work in controlled/cleanroom environments and provide occasional off-hours support.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical lead for BAS systems, supporting engineering, design, installation, commissioning, upgrades, and optimization.
• Review and mark up BAS drawings, specifications, equipment selections, and system designs.
• Lead and manage BAS projects from concept through execution, including project milestones, RFPs, purchase orders, and capital requests.
• Manage external contractors and vendors performing BAS installation, programming, commissioning, and service.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and optimize pneumatic, electronic, digital, and electrical control systems.
• Develop and execute commissioning documentation and support system startup and acceptance.
• Maintain and improve BAS standards, SOPs, processes, and system performance across facilities.
• Provide technical training and support to maintenance and facilities personnel.
• Troubleshoot complex HVAC/BAS issues and document root cause and corrective actions in the CMMS.
• Support long-term BAS strategy, technology upgrades, system standardization, and equipment end-of-life planning.
• Collaborate with facility teams, vendors, engineering groups, and other stakeholders to improve building reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
