Construction Laborer

CONSTRUCTION LABORER
This position involves performing various tasks on hazardous and non-hazardous waste sites in the Northeast region of the United States. Tasks include manual labor in various weather conditions, working with hazardous materials, and operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physical labor at earthmoving, remediation, heavy construction projects, and demolition sites.
• Operate and maintain hand, power tools, and equipment.
• Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
• Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Load and unload materials from trucks or trailers.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with preparation and review of Job Safety Analyses, observations, and other reports.

Requirements:

• 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
• City and State specific training may be required.
• Subject to a background check & physical/drug screen.
• Must be able to wear PPE when needed.
• Will require frequent and extended travel to project sites.

Working Conditions:

• Most work is performed while standing or walking.
• Must be capable of working under physical stress conditions such as heat stress and cold stress during various weather conditions and potential long workdays.
• Possibility of frequent and prolonged use of respiratory equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, welders helmet, safety vest, gloves, steel toe boots, and respiratory protection.

Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable of equipment operation and usage.
• Previous construction and/or hazardous waste work experience preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current refresher.
