We’re hiring a staff level Outdoor Air Quality Scientist/Engineer to work with our team in our Houston, TX, office. In this role, you’ll support a variety of air quality and environmental compliance projects while working closely with experienced team members across the organization. You’ll contribute to technical deliverables, regulatory reporting, field and data-related activities, and client support efforts as part of a collaborative and growing practice. Responsibilities
As a Staff level Air Quality professional at Ensolum, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and they will typically include:
- Prepare and oversee air quality permit applications, including PBR, NSR and Title V permits
- Develop routine compliance reporting, greenhouse gas reporting, and emission inventories
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation for permitting and compliance projects
- Coordinate with clients, internal project teams, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and compliance objectives
- Research and interpret environmental regulations and communicate requirements clearly to project teams and clients
- Support multi-media environmental permitting and compliance activities, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and related environmental programs as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical resource development, and knowledge sharing within the team
Qualifications
We’re always looking for people who are self-motivated, learning-oriented, and client-centric. And to be considered for this role at Ensolum, you’ll also need a few more qualification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Atmospheric Sciences or related field
- 2-4 years of hands-on air quality modeling, permitting, and compliance experience
- At least 2 years of experience with air permitting and compliance reporting in the state of Texas
- Strong familiarity with Clean Air Act Programs (NSPS, NESHAP, NSR, Title V) and state regulations (TCEQ)
- Experience with emissions calculation software (ProMax, GRI Gly-Calc, etc.)
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Able to pass drug & alcohol screening and background check
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience with air quality permitting and compliance for the oil and gas industry
- Experience with multi-media environmental permitting, particularly water, wastewater, and stormwater
- EIT certification
Pay range: $91,000 to $110,000 annually
