In this role, the Slitter/Punching Operator is a person who is responsible for operating slitting machines, which use a series of rollers and blades to cut large rolls of paper or plastic into smaller rolls and punched parts machines, which use dies to produce finished parts. Slitter/Punching Operators must know how to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process so that production can continue without interruption.

• Providing the safest workplace possible where individuals feel a personal sense of responsibility for maintenance needs or unsafe practices, following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards in warehouse locations, and maintaining a neat and clean work environment free of hazards.
• Properly, efficiently and accurately set up, start and operate equipment.
• Understand sales orders and customer requirements to ensure delivery of quality products.
• Capability of meeting production demands with resourceful use of raw materials.
• Promptly report equipment malfunction and necessary repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain all safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards.
• Maintain required productivity level at 100% standard.

Required Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or GED

· Warehouse experience preferred

· Equipment/Machine operator experience preferred

· Ability to meet deadlines in a demanding work environment

· Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and mechanics

· Able to read, write clearly, speak and understand English

· Ability to read and understand label data

· Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses

Physical Demands

· Must be able to independently lift/move up to 70 lbs

· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent to continual basis in a production environment

· Reach above shoulder level frequently

· Must be able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, protective clothing, etc.)
