Location: Denver, CO

Pay range: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00

Opportunity Overview
Ensign is looking for a safety-minded fleet leader who is ready to make a meaningful impact across U.S. operations. In this role, you will help strengthen DOT compliance, support safe driving practices, and promote accountability across a fleet that keeps our business moving.

As the Safety and DOT Compliance Fleet Manager, you will lead key fleet safety and compliance processes, including driver qualification requirements, vehicle documentation, regulatory records, and audit readiness. You will work closely with operations, safety, maintenance, and field leadership to help ensure Company vehicles and drivers operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile
This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, partnering with field teams, and bringing structure to safety and compliance programs.

You will be successful in this role if you communicate clearly, follow through consistently, and can balance regulatory requirements with practical field support. If you take pride in improving driver accountability, maintaining accurate records, and helping teams operate safely, this role offers the opportunity to contribute in a visible and meaningful way.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in fleet safety, DOT compliance, transportation operations, or a related safety-sensitive environment.
  • Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements, including driver qualification files, hours of service, inspections, and required recordkeeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation, manage deadlines, and support audit readiness.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with drivers, field leaders, operations, safety, and maintenance.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and eligibility to drive a Company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DOT and FMCSA compliance activities, including driver qualification files, motor vehicle records, medical certifications, hours-of-service documentation, and required fleet records.
  • Keep documentation audit-ready and support internal reviews, roadside inspection follow-up, regulatory inquiries, and compliance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with operations, safety, maintenance, and field leadership to reinforce safe driving practices, vehicle inspection discipline, and timely corrective action completion.
  • Use fleet safety performance data to identify trends and recommend actions that reduce incidents, violations, preventable accidents, and out-of-service risk.
  • Support driver onboarding, recurring safety training, remedial coaching, and clear communication of DOT-related policies and procedures.
  • Help improve fleet compliance systems, reporting accuracy, permits, registrations, insurance documentation, and administrative processes related to Company vehicles.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relevant experience supporting fleet, safety, compliance, transportation, field operations, or a comparable operational environment.
  • Practical understanding of DOT/FMCSA compliance programs, documentation standards, and required fleet records.
  • Ability to manage audits, renewals, reporting, and follow-up actions with accuracy, consistency, and urgency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet, safety, or compliance systems; ability to interpret data and prepare clear reports.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and eligibility to operate a Company vehicle.
