Join Our Team as an Animal Care Technician!

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Technician to join our team and help provide exceptional care for animals in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). Key Responsibilities:
As an Animal Care Technician, your role will involve a variety of duties that directly impact the health and well-being of the animals in your care. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compassionate Animal Care: Provide love, care, and attention to all animals, ensuring they are treated with the respect they deserve.
- Feeding and Care: Prepare and serve meals, conduct feeding trials, and ensure animals always have access to fresh water.
- Sanitation & Safety: Keep animal enclosures clean and odor-free, while maintaining the highest safety standards.
- Animal Enrichment: Help socialize, exercise, and provide olfactory/natural enrichment for dogs and cats.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report animal behaviors, health conditions, and report any concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Daily Documentation & Reports: Accurately record animal information, complete necessary visual management charts, and contribute to daily huddles.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with animal introductions, manage supplies, and help with the acquisition of new animals as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of animal care experience-can include professional, volunteer, farm, or personal business experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and restraining animals safely
- Experience working with large groups of animals is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to safely follow safety protocols and established safety standards
- Passion for working with animals and socializing them in a positive, off-leash environment
- Capability to assess animal health and provide proper care
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks as needed
