Located in the heart of Connecticut in the quintessential New England town of Simsbury, Ensign Bickford has the exciting new role of PCBA Process Engineer, designed to support our Printed Circuit Board Assembly line. This role directly works with highly complex Aerospace and Defense electronics and offers the unique ability to be a key contributor early in the design phases of electronic circuit boards while being a contributing member to PCBA manufacturing operations. This blend will enhance technical capabilities to continue personal and professional growth in a high performing team. Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for EBAD’s PCBA manufacturing line, including but not limited to the following: Ensure manufacturing readiness of PCBAs Develop standard work and manufacturing process documentation defining the operation of the PCBA equipment Train operators to standard work and manufacturing process documentation Coordinate design and procurement of tooling, fixtures and work aides for manufacturing of PCBAs Develop and implement continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and manufacturing rate Interface with a variety of personnel in support of production including technicians, quality engineers, inspectors, planner, program managers, project engineers and design engineers Provide input to manufacturability of PCBA designs for new products Requirements: The successful candidate must have a AS/BS in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience in electronics operations and 5-10 years of experience. PCB Assembly, IPC & J-STD Specification Knowledge Exposure to SMT Equipment Setup, Operation, and Maintenance Exposure to PCBA conformal coating and staking methods and equipment Demonstrated capabilities writing procedures Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills Knowledge on configuration management practices Preferred Skills: Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing systems or Continuous Improvement are a strong plus Experience in visual daily management and data collection systems Experience working in a development atmosphere including exposure to stage gate processes Familiarity with configuration management practices Skills in developing and documenting process validation plans and results Creates and maintains product structures and routers in an ERP system Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
