Job Description Job Description Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic system solutions offered to aerospace and defense customers for a wide array of applications. EBA&D seeks a procurement professional for the position of Buyer, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. Responsibilities: Responsible for day-to-day supplier relationship management: quality, delivery, and price negotiations, conflict resolution, and problem solving. Responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and services for assigned categories in support of EBA&D Electronics Value Stream in Simsbury, CT. Develops and implements sourcing plans, price justification packages, and cost analysis in accordance with the requirements. Coordinates activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders for maximum operational effectiveness. Maintains accurate supplier and material records in Company’s ERP system. Utilizes Company systems to maximize procurement efficiencies. Ensures that all regulatory and company requirements for procurement, storage, and transportation of materials are adhered to (DFAR/FAR/CPSR). Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities to gain expertise and tailor sourcing practices to best fit the organizational requirements. Provides input in the Supplier Development process by continually evaluating suppliers’ performance and facilitating improvements in cost, quality, and delivery. Requirements: The Candidate must have a BA/BS in Supply Chain, Finance or Business. 2 to 5 years tactical procurement or related experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Experience in both low volume, development scale procurement (R&D), to low/medium volume production procurement is desirable. Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and basic operation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and related government procurement documentation requirements. Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word, Power-point and MS Project. The candidate must be detail orientated, ability to multi-task and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment. Energetic and positive. Ability to work independently. Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, be curious and self-motivated. Must be willing to travel as needed (0-10%).
