Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Close
- Supervise and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
- Monitor and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Oversee accruals, reserves, and financial estimates
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Identify and implement improvements to internal controls
- Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
- Assign and review work to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Establish performance expectations and provide regular feedback
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardize processes
- Support ERP system enhancements and automation initiatives
- Strengthen documentation and financial governance practices
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments
- Support inventory accounting and related controls (if applicable)
- Assist leadership with financial analysis and reporting needs
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred, even indirectly
- Public accounting experience a plus
- CPA preferred (or in progress)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of internal controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functionally
- Process-oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvement
