Job Summary
Supports the Health Information Management (HIM) department by performing clerical and operational duties related to document imaging, record analysis, record completion, and birth registry processes. Ensures the integrity of the legal health record through timely, accurate work. Provides front-line support and assists with training and onboarding of new team members.
Essential Functions
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Experience:
1–3 years of relevant experience

Job Summary
Supports the Health Information Management (HIM) department by performing clerical and operational duties related to document imaging, record analysis, record completion, and birth registry processes. Ensures the integrity of the legal health record through timely, accurate work. Provides front-line support and assists with training and onboarding of new team members.
Essential Functions
- Prepare, scan, index, and maintain patient records in accordance with HIM policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper document organization
- Analyze patient records for completeness and route deficiencies for follow-up
- Monitor work queues and support physician deficiency management processes
- Support birth registry functions, including data collection, documentation, and timely submission of birth certificates
- Communicate with physicians to resolve documentation deficiencies and ensure compliance
- Assist with billing and coding accuracy by identifying and obtaining missing documentation
- Maintain record logs, including record destruction tracking
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Experience:
1–3 years of relevant experience
Certifications (one required):
- CRCR
- RHIT
- Or other approved job-related certification
- Experience working in a Health Information Management or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills with physicians and clinical staff
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
