Position Summary

The Carrier Services Supervisor oversees carrier performance, service execution, and system adoption across the Enru network. This role serves as the first line escalation point for carrier service issues and is responsible for ensuring successful implementation and ongoing success of key carrier-facing programs, including Project44 (track & trace and LTL rating solutions) and Goodship (freight orchestration and reporting). The Supervisor drives capacity commitments, compliance standards, and fraud prevention while fostering direct carrier relationships and eliminating broker reliance. This role balances day-to-day operational oversight with strategic accountability for cost savings, service quality, and network optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of escalation for carrier-related issues including rates, service failures, onboarding, and shipment exceptions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of escalations while documenting root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Monitor and improve on-time pickup and delivery at lane, carrier, and network levels.
  • Establish carrier capacity commitments (tenders expected vs. tenders accepted) and ensure accurate measurement and scoring through Goodship.
  • Drive lane cost reduction initiatives while protecting high-performing incumbents and carrier relationships.
  • Ensure successful deployment and ongoing performance of carriers within the Enru network.
  • Oversee use of Highway for onboarding, carrier vetting, and compliance to maintain a safe, high-quality carrier network.
  • Leverage Highway’s sourcing and fraud-prevention tools to proactively mitigate risk.
  • Eliminate co-brokerage relationships and double-brokering exposure, with an emphasis on sourcing and developing local, regional, and owner-operator carriers.
  • Oversee the adoption and utilization of Project44 for track & trace and LTL rating/transit, ensuring consistently high tracking quality.
  • Lead the transition from Excel-based reporting to Goodship, ensuring team proficiency, carrier engagement, and actionable performance improvements.
  • Support the potential adoption and ongoing integration of bid board technology (internal or third-party such as Highway TFX) to improve spot freight execution.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for carrier-facing systems, ensuring data integrity and continuous improvement in utilization.
  • Monitor and report on savings and leakage at rate-type (Spot/Contract), lane, and carrier levels.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate rating and processing of Truckload, LTL, and Intermodal accessorials.
  • Ensure RFPs are developed and scheduled strategically, protecting strong carrier relationships while selectively sourcing new capacity where needed.
  • Develop and maintain reporting to track KPIs such as savings, capacity commitments, carrier performance, accessorial accuracy, and tracking compliance.
  • Deliver actionable insights to leadership that drive improvements in service reliability, cost efficiency, and carrier selection.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Carrier Services team members, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and skills development related to escalation handling, system usage, and analytical best practices.
  • Build a culture of problem-solving, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to align carrier strategy with customer and business needs.
  • Standardize processes for escalations, carrier onboarding, capacity tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, carrier contracts, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Support special projects, new initiatives, and evolving responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in transportation operations, carrier management, or logistics, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Familiarity with freight technology platforms (TMS, track & trace, freight orchestration, LTL rating systems). Experience with Project44, Goodship, or Highway strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present insights.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools and Microsoft Excel; experience transitioning from Excel-based to platform-based reporting a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Performance Indicators

  • Improvement in on-time pickup/delivery performance.
  • Establishment and achievement of carrier capacity commitments.
  • Reduction in lane-level costs and savings leakage.
  • Elimination of co-brokerage relationships from the Enru network.
  • High accuracy in TL/LTL/IMD accessorial rating and processing.
  • Measured adoption and effective use of Project44, Goodship, and Highway across team and carrier base.
