Duties
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Support clients in engaging with their community through transportation, social outings, and participation in recreational activities.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs to promote positive behaviors and emotional well-being.
- Collect data on client progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes to inform care plans and support team collaboration.
- Use effective communication skills.
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols when trained and authorized to do so.
- Document all interactions accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations to ensure quality care and accountability.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is a strong asset.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building trusting relationships with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion while maintaining client safety at all times.
