Position Overview

The Digital Director is a senior-level role responsible for owning the agency’s digital performance vision, strategic direction, and accountability standards across all clients. This individual serves as the executive authority on digital marketing initiatives — acting as both strategic architect and performance auditor to ensure every campaign, vendor relationship, and media investment drives measurable business growth.

This role partners closely with executive leadership, account teams, and key clients to guide high-level strategy, investment allocation, and optimization decisions. The Digital Director holds strategic authority over digital channel mix, vendor performance and relationship, and campaign direction to ensure the strongest possible results for our clients.

Core Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Performance Accountability

  • Establish agency-wide best practices, frameworks, and performance standards across paid search, paid social, programmatic, display, and emerging streaming channels.
  • Define digital strategies, KPIs, and success benchmarks for every digital engagement.
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, industry trends, and innovation to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Serve as the agency’s digital performance auditor, proactively evaluating campaign effectiveness, efficiency, and ROI.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of campaign strategy, execution, and reporting to ensure alignment with client objectives.
  • Identify underperformance early and implement corrective strategic adjustments.
  • Oversee reporting standards to ensure accuracy, attribution clarity, and actionable insight delivery.
  • Maintain strict budget oversight across all paid campaigns to ensure financial discipline and performance efficiency.
  • Lead client-facing strategy presentations, campaign reviews, and performance discussions.

Vendor Management

  • Own and manage all external digital vendor relationships.
  • Establish clear performance standards, expectations, and accountability measures for third-party partners.
  • Evaluate, select, negotiate, and — when necessary — replace vendor partners based on results and strategic alignment.
  • Ensure vendor work integrates seamlessly into agency strategy, reporting, and client communications.
  • Protect agency margins while driving performance excellence.

Team Leadership & Agency Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the internal digital team members and nurture the vendor relationships.
  • Define scalable team structures, roles, and growth pathways.
  • Ensure consistent execution quality, accountability, and professional development.
  • Establish an open dialogue and collaborative working environment with Account, Creative, and Media teams to deliver integrated, results-driven solutions.
  • Support new business efforts as the agency’s digital subject-matter expert.

Qualifications (Required):

  • 8–10 years of progressive digital marketing experience
  • Proven track record driving measurable performance
  • Experience managing third-party vendors
  • Strong knowledge of conversion tracking, GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, etc.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with API-based lead integrations
  • Experience working in an agency environment
  • Experience with Salesforce or HubSpot CRM integrations
