Position Summary
We are seeking a Traffic/Civil Engineer with 1 years of experience to work in the expanding Transportation group. The Traffic/Civil Engineer will work on a variety of public sector infrastructure projects in the NY/NJ area including bridge, roadway, and aviation projects. Work includes preparation and/or review of design documents for signs (guide signs and traffic control warning/regulatory signs), pavement markings, traffic signals, traffic barriers, maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) design, ITS design, roadway design, alignments, grading, utilities, etc.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review design plans, estimates, technical specifications, details, and other project related documents (guide signs, traffic control signs, pavement markings, traffic signals, traffic barriers, MPT, ITS, alignments, grading, utilities etc.).
- Design/Review construction design documents to ensure effective and safe traffic operations, including evaluation of complex construction phasing plans.
- Develop conceptual documents and provide design recommendations.
- Coordinate with staff from a range of other disciplines (civil, structural, operations, etc.) to resolve design issues.
- As a small firm, there are great opportunities to work on a variety of projects and learn different aspects of Traffic Engineering including Transportation Planning skills.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-5 years of experience in the transportation engineering field
- Subject matter expertise in signing design and pavement marking design
- Knowledge of FHWA MUTCD, AASHTO, State DOT, and other NY/NJ local standards
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, GuideSIGN, AutoTURN, and Gerber Omega
- Technical Writing and Report Documentation
- Uncompromising Integrity
- Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
- Have a solid time management system and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
