Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and shipment of materials, ensuring smooth operations across all warehouse functions. Your proactive approach and mechanical aptitude will help maintain safety standards and optimize inventory accuracy.
Duties
- Load and unload shipments using forklift and/or clamp truck while adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks to ensure mechanical reliability and safety compliance.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming goods against purchase orders.
- Regularly empty dumpsters and trim boxes and make bales as needed.
- Develop a thorough understanding of warehouse inventory to ensure the needs of the machine operators are met efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by properly storing materials on pallets or racks and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Perform minor janitorial duties such as sweeping production floor, shoveling entryways and cutting/sorting cores as needed.
- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Experience
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred to troubleshoot minor equipment issues quickly.
- Organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities ensure efficiency.
