In this full-time position, the Intake Counselor is responsible for performing intake and patient care activities. The Intake Counselor also acts as a representative of treatment staff and observes all patient activity, maintains a visible presence of the patients at the treatment center and at outside activities. Intake Counselor is responsible for assisting in the daily therapeutic program for patients and for various administrative duties. The Intake Counselor, hired in a dual role as Counselor Intern, would be responsible for assisting with providing group therapy, case management and assessments.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of chemical dependency and addictions
- Utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the patient’s treatment needs and requirements.
- Documents as required in patient chart.
- Arrange transportation, when needed.
- Orients new patients to the facility.
- Instructs and confirms the company’s rules/ regulations to new admissions and orients new patients to the facility.
- Conducts motivational and/or educational groups as directed by the Clinical Director and completes subsequent documentation in a timely manner.
- Ability to work as a team member, demonstrating maturity and objectivity under stress, and demonstrates good communication skills.
- Completes intake assessments as needed and assesses for prospective patient’s appropriateness for treatment.
