Overview
The Middleware Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining middleware technologies that connect applications, databases, and users across the organization. This role ensures the high availability, performance, and security of middleware environments and provides support for application deployment and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Configuration
- Install, configure, and manage middleware technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, JBoss EAP, Apache Tomcat, WebSphere MQ, Kafka, or similar platforms.
- Set up application servers, clusters, and load balancing for high availability.
- Administration and Maintenance
- Manage deployment, monitoring, and tuning of enterprise applications.
- Perform routine system health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates to middleware software.
- Integration and Deployment
- Support developers in application deployments, configuration management, and troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain deployment scripts and automation using Ansible, Jenkins, or Shell/Python scripts.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Monitor system performance and resolve middleware-related issues proactively.
- Analyze logs, diagnose problems, and provide timely resolutions for incidents and service requests.
- Implement monitoring and alerting using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Nagios.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement and manage security configurations, SSL certificates, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards for data security and availability.
- Documentation and Support
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for configuration, procedures, and system architecture.
- Provide on-call support for production environments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Should have 10 years of experience .
- Hands-on experience with at least one major middleware technology (e.g., WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, or Kafka).
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems administration, scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with application deployment automation and CI/CD tools.
- Solid understanding of load balancing, clustering, and failover concepts.

Pay: $40.00 - $47.05 per hour
