Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, implement, and maintain ServiceNow applications and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ServiceNow platform development, IT Service Management (ITSM), workflow automation, integrations, and platform customization. The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and IT leadership to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that align with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements.

• Develop and maintain workflows, Flow Designer flows, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, and UI Actions.

• Implement and support ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.

• Develop and maintain Service Catalog items, catalog client scripts, record producers, and approval workflows.

• Build and manage integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.

• Customize forms, tables, fields, lists, and user interfaces to improve platform usability.

• Develop solutions using JavaScript, GlideRecord, GlideAjax, GlideSystem, and other ServiceNow scripting APIs.

• Work with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps as required by the project.

• Implement automated testing, debugging, performance optimization, and code quality improvements.

• Participate in platform upgrades, instance maintenance, application deployment, and update set management.

• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, administrators, and project managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

• Follow ServiceNow development best practices, security standards, and governance policies.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide ongoing technical support.

• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.

• Prepare technical documentation, solution designs, and deployment procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 12 years of experience in ServiceNow development and platform customization.

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript, GlideRecord, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Script Includes.

• Experience with Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, Service Catalog, and approval processes.

• Strong understanding of ITIL principles and ITSM processes.

• Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow tables, forms, ACLs, roles, groups, and access control mechanisms.

• Experience with update sets, application repositories, source control, and deployment management.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.

• Relevant ServiceNow CIS certifications, such as ITSM, ITOM, or other applicable specializations.

• Experience with Service Portal, UI Builder, and ServiceNow Employee Center.

• Knowledge of CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM capabilities.

• Experience with IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and automated testing tools.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with ServiceNow platform upgrades and large-scale enterprise implementations.
