Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced educational administrator to fill the position of Elementary School Principal and Assistant Principal at Enid Public Schools. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the educational programs and activities in one or both of these roles.
Responsibilities and Duties
- School Principal Responsibilities:
- Interpret and enforce district policies and administrative regulations.
- Participate in the selection and supervision of all school personnel.
- Lead in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of building level programs.
- Organize and administer the public relations program for assigned school.
- Supervise the daily use of school facilities for academic and non-academic purposes.
- Provide for adequate inventories of property under assigned jurisdiction and for security and accountability.
- Approve master teaching schedules and special assignments.
- Prepare and administer school budgets and supervise school finances.
- Supervise maintenance of required records and reports, including State Attendance Registers.
- Maintain active relationships and ensure proper communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Serve as instructional leader in the building, monitoring Academic Performance Index, Reading Sufficiency, Reading Proficiency, Average Yearly Progress, WIDA, and student accountability.
- Assume responsibility for official school correspondence and news releases.
- Serve as member of committees and attend meetings as directed by superintendent.
- Respond to written and oral requests for information.
- Keep immediate supervisory informed of events and activities of unusual nature and routine matters.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and development through membership and participation in professional organizations.
- Assistant Principal Responsibilities:
- Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
- Supervise preparation of student schedules.
- Work with department heads and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests.
- Request supplies and equipment, conduct inventories, maintain records, and check receipts.
- Cooperate in conducting safety inspections and safety drill activities.
- Assume responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
- Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
- Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deal with special cases.
- Serve with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
- Assist principal in monitoring API, Reading Sufficiency, Reading Proficiency, AYP, ACT, WIDA, and student accountability.
