Procurement Buyer
Enhanced Staffing is partnering with a respected manufacturing and construction client to hire a Procurement Buyer. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services that support manufacturing operations and project execution.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in procurement, supplier management, and purchasing within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source materials, equipment, and services while securing competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
- Review purchase requisitions, obtain vendor quotes, and issue purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while onboarding new vendors.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Inventory Control, Production, Field Operations, and Accounts Payable to ensure material requirements are met.
- Monitor supplier performance, shipment schedules, quality, and invoice resolution.
- Support project teams with material planning and procurement strategies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve supplier performance, and streamline procurement processes.
- Escalate supply chain risks and material shortages as needed.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records while handling confidential business information with professionalism.
Qualifications
- 5β10 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience purchasing direct materials in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of purchase orders, requisitions, vendor management, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read construction drawings or blueprints and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Viewpoint software is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Work Environment
This is primarily an onsite office position with occasional exposure to manufacturing and construction environments. Limited travel (less than 5%) may be required.
