We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Aide with experience supporting children with behavioral, developmental, or emotional needs. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering structured, high-quality care across various settings, ensuring each child’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being. This role requires strong observational skills, patience, effective communication, and the ability to follow individualized behavior support plans while collaborating closely with families and care teams.
Responsibilities
- Support children in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Observe and document behaviors, triggers, progress, and any significant changes.
- Assist children with daily living activities, routines, and social skill development.
- Promote a safe, supportive environment by using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
- Collaborate with behavioral therapists, care coordinators, teachers, and healthcare teams to ensure consistent support.
- Provide emotional encouragement and serve as a positive role model for children.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding activities, progress, and concerns.
- Maintain accurate, timely notes and comply with confidentiality and reporting standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with children (behavioral health, special education, ABA therapy, or caregiving experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of child behavior, emotional regulation, and support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to children’s needs and family dynamics.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed during behavioral incidents.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and basic behavior management techniques.
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow structured care or intervention plans.
