Role Overview
As an Entry-Level Big Data Engineer, you will assist in designing and managing data pipelines that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data. You’ll work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and efficiently processed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting and processing large datasets
- Work with big data frameworks like Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark
- Write scripts using languages like Python, Java, or Scala
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation
- Assist in building ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Work with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL tools like MongoDB
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Collaborate with teams to understand data requirements
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity with SQL
- Knowledge of distributed systems (basic level)
- Exposure to cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
