What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Intern position at Enhance Diagnostics?
Enhance Diagnostics is a fast-growing, pre-clinical, medical device company currently focused on
researching diagnostic testing solutions for patients with metabolic diseases. We are dedicated to
pushing the boundaries of personalized medicine and at-home testing. We are currently seeking
motivated undergraduate or graduate students to join our team as part of our Initial Testing Internship
Program. This interdisciplinary internship offers hands-on experience in biomedical engineering,
biology, and diagnostic assay development within a professional, venture-backed, medtech startup.
Position Overview:
Interns will assist our Research and Development and Pre-Clinical Testing teams in various aspects
of diagnostic test processing, sample tracking, and data analysis. This position allows interns to gain
direct experience with FDA regulated testing platforms, laboratory workflows, and the implementation
of quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct and assist with initial testing of clinical and research samples under supervision
• Maintain accurate lab records and ensure compliance with testing protocols
• Prepare reagents, analyze data, and document results in lab information systems
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions
• Adhere to all safety and biosafety level procedures
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a
closely related field (graduate students welcome)
• Minimum of one year of hands-on laboratory experience (academic or professional)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques (Examples may include: PCR, western blotting, or
spectroscopy)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Internship Details
Duration: 3–6 months with potential for extension based on performance
Start Date: Flexible, but as soon as January 2026
Location: Enhance Diagnostics Headquarters, KU Innovation Park
Schedule: 10 hours per week (flexible around academic commitments)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ($18/hr)
