Mechanical Drafter/Designer I

Location: 100% On-Site – Austin, TX

We're partnering with an innovative engineering and manufacturing company that develops highly specialized electronic systems used in mission-critical applications. Position Overview

As a Mechanical Drafter/Designer I, you'll be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and fabrication packages for custom electromechanical products. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements and are optimized for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and fabrication packages using SolidWorks Professional.
• Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand and implement mechanical packaging requirements.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, and sales throughout the product development process.
• Assist with design revisions and documentation updates as products evolve.
• Ensure drawings and models are accurate, complete, and manufacturable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor for 3D mechanical design.
• Technical training in mechanical drafting, design, or a related field.
• At least one year of mechanical engineering coursework from an accredited program or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Understanding of machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly processes.
• RF or electronics packaging experience is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with machine shop best practices is preferred.
