English, Lucas, Priest, and Owsley, LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Bowling Green, KY office.
ELPO Law has served Bowling Green and the surrounding areas of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for over 50 years. As the largest, full-service law firm in the region, we are looking for a candidate who has at least 1 year of experience. This Paralegal position will assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services including but not limited to: document preparation and review, research, fact checking, and trial preparation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
- Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures—all under attorney supervision and review
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys
- Serve as liaison between clients and attorneys, assisting with the full client-management lifecycle
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
- Facilitate deposition preparations, including organizing witness files and trial notebooks
- Prepares summaries of statements from interviewed clients and witnesses
- Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings
- Assists with tracking hours spent on specific cases using the Juris system
- Performs other related duties and gives general support to attorneys as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of court rules, calendaring, e-filing and filing procedures for Kentucky
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in legal databases like LexisNexis to gather relevant case information
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion
- Self-motivated to accomplish tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Knowledge of other software used in a legal office (e.g., DocuSign, NetDocs, Juris, etc.)
- Ability to meet billing standards and deadlines to accurately track work
Education and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience as a litigation paralegal required
- Multifaced litigation experience preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies or related field preferred
- Paralegal certificate preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
