QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years successful experience as a head coach of cheerleading at a college or high school, or at least 5 years of successful experience as an assistant cheerleading coach at a college or high school preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in dance and choreography.
  • Evidence of having participated in a cheering program in high school, college or any other higher level of education.
  • Successful completion of the “Safety in Cheering Course” provided by the National Cheerleading Coach’s Association.
  • CPR and First Aid Instructor experience desired.
  • Successful completion of the MIAA coach’s course.

  

 

SKILLS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitor academic climate of all players; check grades and credits regarding eligibility and quarterly progress during the school year.
  • Maintain discipline among teammates.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct for coaches established by the Lynn School Committee.
  • Responsible for collecting all physical forms and permission slips prior to try outs.
  • Responsible for submitting practice schedules, such as time and objectives, prior to start of season.
  • Attend clinics, conferences and other meetings on a state and league level. Participate in the Greater Boston League. 
  • Stay informed about changes in rules and regulations in MIAA and GBL.
  • Complete periodic inventory of all usable equipment.
  • Administer injury claim forms and follow-up on progress of all injured athletes and inform athletic director of any and all injuries.
  • Responsible for school facilities during practice time. Check all areas after everyone else has left the premises.  
  • Practice time to be determined and monitored by the athletic director. This also includes any competitions.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by the athletic director including all purchases prior to, during and at the end of the season.

JOB GOAL:        To advise and lead the cheerleaders so that they function as effectively as possible to instill

                         School spirit at athletic events.

 

 

 

An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including a drug test, National fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (NCBC), and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).  

All MUST be completed PRIOR to the start of employment.
