JOB TITLE: MECHANIC (Non-Exempt) Full Time

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

Full time with benefits, PTO and sign on bonus. We will pay top dollar for certifications and highly experienced mechanic. This position will grow into Fleet Manager position. We have 2 landscape operations Pontiac and Plymouth.

Responsible for inspecting and repairing English Gardens vehicles, machinery and light trucks. Oversee maintenance, inspections, monitor fleet and tracking, and assemble mechanical components and perform minor repairs. Must be able to communicate with third party vendors for estimates and recommendations to management team.

POSTION SUMMARY:

· Responsible for overall safety in the shop at both Landscape operations and in the yard. Includes proper truck, trailer and equipment operations, inspections and training.

· Accurate daily shop paperwork and invoices, duplicated for receiving and equipment files.

· Proper tool operation, regarding safety and usage.

· Keep TOOL CRIB NEAT AND ORGANIZED.

· Keep SHOP BAYS NEAT AND ORGANIZED.

· Oversite and cleanliness of shop, keep neat organized environment

· Shop coordination with Director of Landscape and Holiday Services, Operations Manager and supervisors

· KEEP PROPER MAINTAINCE OF EQUIPMENT assigned or used by you or your crew.

· Keep up to date on all maintenance standards

· Keep cell phone active as needed by employees and all levels of management.

· Assist with quality and production goals and special projects as needed.

· Communicate professionally with and vendors and co-workers.

· Communicate a professional appearance at all times. [Personnel and equipment]

· Communicate and reinforce company policy and procedures.

· Help in growth and development of staff, regarding equipment maintenance.

· Keep equipment budget and inspection spreadsheets updated.

· Oversite of projects and staff assigned to Fleet maintenance

Requirements:

-must have small engine repair experience 4 cycle & 2 cycle engines

· Detail oriented

· Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment

· Willingness to observe all English Gardens safety standards and protocol

· Ability to work with limited supervision and oversite, know what to do and where to be daily

· Ability to make decisions, cost effectiveness in mind

· Must have previous truck and various machinery knowledge

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work as a team or independently

· Computer experience required, Microsoft office, internet knowledge

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
