Who we are looking for...
We are seeking a Geospatial Consultant. This project management position performs duties which contribute to the development, deployment, and support of Geospatial Technologies (GST) GIS and asset management solutions for internal and external clients at England-Thims & Miller, Inc. (ETM). As the Geospatial Consultant, you serve as the client-facing project manager responsible for client relationships and delivering the assigned project scope on-time and on-budget. This person maintains timely communication & coordination of project tasks to the internal and external project team. The following skills will be required for this position:
- Manages projects for GST’s internal and external clients to deliver quality products and services.
- Prepares project and design deliverables for GST’s GIS and or asset management solutions.
- Supports new and existing clients, ensuring deliverables and milestones are met within a reasonable time.
- Coordinates and executes client meetings to assist with information/requirement gathering sessions.
- Organizes, collects, documents, and enters data for projects.
- Strategizes, plans, and performs advanced analysis, data mining, report/exhibits based on client needs.
- Coordinates and implements GIS and or asset management buildouts for clients.
- Provides support services for clients as needed.
- Support internal or external software deployment; installation, updates, etc. as needed.
- Cleans, organizes, and itemizes new and existing items within various GST systems as needed.
- Assists with proposal development as assigned by Geospatial Program Manager.
- Periodically attends and participates in trade shows and other ETM sponsored events.
- Travel up to 30 days a year may be required for client site visits.
- Expected Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM in office or remote availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in GIS applications.
- Experience in a primary client facing role for a minimum of (1) year.
- Master’s degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science or related field is preferred.
- GIS Professional (GISP) Certificate is preferred.
Preferred:
Software
· ArcGIS 10.x ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro
· ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS
· Cartegraph OMS experience is a plus
· AutoCAD 20xx Civil 3D experience is a plus
· ArcGIS Workflow Manager experience is a plus
· ArcGIS Data Reviewer experience is a plus
Scripting / Query Languages
· Python, Arcade, Java, and JavaScript is a plus
· SQL is a plus

- Advanced knowledge of spatial analytical and cartographic techniques.
- Knowledge of system and database design knowledge.
- Experience working independently or with a team on advanced projects.
- Ability to load, reference, project and prepare data from internal or external providers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to visualize, present, and translate geospatial information.
- Works independently with minimal guidance and understand project management techniques.
- Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions to improve performance.
- Ability to interpret internal and external needs for geospatial solutions.
- Embodies the ‘ETM Way’ in both their personal and professional lives.
