We are seeking a hard-working Traveling Commercial Building Sales Specialist who has great closing skills and the passion to exceed sales goals.

In this hybrid inside sales role, you will be responsible for serving our customers by answering questions and generating sales via the telephone, web inquiries and site visits. The Traveling Commercial Building Sales Specialist focuses on proactive selling of our structure line by maximizing all opportunities and aggressively cross-selling, up-selling, and following up. In this position, you will also be responsible for outbound calls to customers regarding bids, requests for quotes and general customer inquiries.

In addition to servicing your customers through various forms of communication, your responsibilities will include attending industry trade shows periodically, traveling to prospects in your defined region, working on special individual projects and other duties as they are assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Field initial inquiries from prospective customers interested in ClearSpan Buildings, Fabric Buildings, Metal Buildings, and related equipment.
  • Manage and close a pipeline of leads from multiple sources, including ZoomInfo, digital campaigns, events, regional prospecting and inbound quote forms.
  • Execute a structured outreach cadence across assigned prospects, including emails, calls, follow-up, and relationship-building activities.
  • Create orders for structures, including all necessary accessories and related components.
  • Drive sales activity to meet and exceed established sales goals and performance targets.
  • Target approximately 25 calls per day and maintain consistent follow-up on all assigned leads.
  • Travel to Iowa approximately once per month (every 4 weeks) for field engagement, site visits, presentations, and closing activities.
  • Conduct 3–5 in-person visits during travel weeks with key leads, prospects, architects, general contractors, and contractors.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and Business Development to support customer needs and ensure smooth handoffs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records for all contacts, opportunities, deal stages, and activity.
  • Participate in team meetings, call reviews, one-on-ones, and training sessions to support performance and development.
  • Report weekly pipeline status, travel outcomes, and market insights to management.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Traveling approximately 25-50% a year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

Minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent from four-year college or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,

and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only

limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order Processing systems, Microsoft Office Suites, and the ability to type at a minimum of 30 wpm.

Compensation

With our base plus weekly commission structure, our average first year Traveling Commercial Building Sales Specialist earns between $75,000 and $100,000.
