The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. This key role is critical in ensuring that production operations run efficiently, safely, and according to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and direct production employees, set performance standards, and assess team performance. Assign personnel to primary and secondary operations, direct daily output, and maximize productivity.
- Production Coordination: Oversee daily production activities, including warehouse operations, and supervise material handling to ensure a smooth production flow.
- Employee Development: Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and address complaints, grievances, and performance issues. Recommend actions such as promotions, disciplinary actions, or salary adjustments as appropriate.
- Training and Support: Ensure employees receive necessary training on equipment operations, safety protocols, and job responsibilities. Troubleshoot production issues and provide corrective action when required.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet and exceed quality standards.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor production variances, oversee production records, and report to management on issues or improvements needed.
- Resource Management: Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, and repair services. Manage attendance and employee work hours, ensuring production schedules are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and operations management to identify and eliminate production inefficiencies or quality issues.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and guide teams.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to assess and address employee performance and production variances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in production operations and supervision with an understanding of primary and secondary molding operations.
- Active listening, decision-making, and judgment skills to manage complex production environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in production operations or supervision is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
- At least 3 years of experience in injection molding (set-up or processing).
- Familiarity with the molded plastic part manufacturing process is a plus.
- Related training may substitute for part of the required experience.
