Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Duties

• Receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying quantities, and recording details using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately for delivery or transfer
• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks, stock shelves, and organize inventory
• Utilize warehouse management systems such as AS400 or MRP software to track inventory levels, update stock records, and facilitate order fulfillment processes
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure proper packaging standards are followed to prevent damage during transit while optimizing space utilization for shipping efficiency
• Support order picking and packing activities using RF scanners and order picker equipment to meet delivery deadlines promptly
  
  
  

Skills

• Proven experience in warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory management
• Skilled in operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners with proper certification where applicable
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes within e-commerce environments is highly desirable
• Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipment quantities accurately
• Ability to efficiently load & unload trucks while adhering to safety protocols
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms like MRP for tracking inventory movements
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in order picking & packing tasks
