Construction Management Intern

Overview

  • On-site for one project with opportunities to visit the office and walk other job sites.
  • Typically working 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer (exact schedule TBD based on project and team needs).
  • Mentored by a Superintendent, Project/Field Engineer, and/or Project Manager.
  • Exposure to shadow Project Engineer/Project Manager and Field Engineer/Superintendent Responsibilities.
  • Technical and soft skill trainings.

Possible Responsibilities

  • Representing ESI as an ambassador to clientele, design teams, city officials, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in all aspects of a construction project, including bidding, construction/operations, project close-out, and warranty, depending on phase of assigned project.
  • Manage project documentation control, including organizing, maintaining, and updating plan updates (ASIs, CCDs, etc.), RFIs and responses, submittals, and taking and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of on-site trades.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED completed and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related majors preferred. The ideal candidate will be within 2 years, or less, of graduation/successful completion of their degree.

Project Coordinator / Project Accountant - Operations Intern

Overview

  • On-site at our office in Meridian.
  • Typically working 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer (exact schedule TBD based on project and team needs).
  • Mentored by a Business Manager, Project Coordinator, and/or Project Accountant.

  • Project Coordinator:
  • Administrative support to project management team.
  • Bid activities.
  • Project documentation management, correspondence, and logs.
  • Subcontract/Purchase order distribution and tracking.
  • Compliance documentation and tracking.
  • Change management document distribution and tracking.
  • Closeout documentation.
  • Project documentation archival.

  • Project Accountant:
  • Subcontractor joint check documentation, correspondence, and processing.
  • Contract and state compliance efforts.
  • Project accounting and financial analysis.
  • Subcontract payment processing.
  • Accounting closeout processes.

Requirements

Business Support Intern

Possible Responsibilities

Marketing Intern:

  • Supporting the Marketing team with proposals, various media initiatives (design/photo/video), and other marketing efforts.
  • Attend & help coordinate company events that occur during your internship, including groundbreakings, ESI CARES events, employee events, etc.

Overview

Information Technology Intern:

  • Supporting the Information Technology team with service desk requests, asset management, and other installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting efforts.

Human Resources Intern:

  • Supporting the Human Resources team with employee onboarding communication, human resources documentation, benefits administration, and insight into applicable laws and policies (including affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, etc.).
