Duties
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc or similar controls.
- Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing G-code, M-code, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, and CNC programming best practices to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts within specified tolerances.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct grinding, welding, assembly, and other finishing operations to achieve desired surface finishes and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, operating hand tools and power tools properly, and utilizing forklift or other equipment as needed for material handling.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings confidently.
- Proficiency in CNC G-code programming, Mastercam programming, CNC milling machine operation, and Fanuc control systems.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, basic math skills for measurement conversions and calculations.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality assurance.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, tool wear management, grinding operations, welding techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Capable of operating forklifts safely for material movement within the facility.
