Overview
Engineered Design Solutions is growing and looking for an on-site full-time Drafting Technician. The position is responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, plans, and schematics based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or designers. This role supports project development by preparing detailed drawings, revising designs, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).
· Interpret and convert engineering or architectural designs into precise drawings and layouts.
· Revise and update existing drawings based on feedback or project changes.
· Maintain drawing files, documentation, and records for version control and organization.
· Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to clarify design requirements.
· Ensure drawings comply with company standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
· Assist in developing design specifications and technical documentation.
· Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Support project timelines by meeting deadlines and managing drafting workload effectively.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
· Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks, Revit, or similar preferred).
Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 1–3 years of drafting experience preferred. Consideration will be given to entry level candidates.
· Strong understanding of drafting standards, symbols, and practices.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
· Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and building codes and regulations.
· Experience in construction, manufacturing, civil engineering, etc. is a plus.
· Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering tools may be preferred.
· Visual acuity to review detailed drawings and specifications.
Working Conditions
· This is primarily an office-based with extended periods of computer work. Occasional visits to job sites or manufacturing facilities, depending on the project requirements may be required.
· Ability to sit for extended periods and operate computer equipment.
