Overview
We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD software for glass and glazing systems. This role is essential in supporting our engineering and design teams, ensuring that all projects meet the required specifications and standards. The CAD Drafter will collaborate closely with project managers and field operations to deliver high-quality designs that align with project goals.
Duties
- Develop and prepare detailed drawings and details for glass and glazing systems used in fenestration construction.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD to create accurate 2D elevations and details.
- Review project specifications and collaborate with team members to ensure designs meet all requirements.
- Modify existing drawings based on feedback from general contractors, construction managers, architects and engineers while maintaining version control.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to gather information for drafting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the drafting process.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Strong understanding of design principles and construction practices.
- Ability to create detailed schematics and technical drawings with precision.
- 3 years of designing using various glass and glazing systems.
- Experience in drafting for various engineering disciplines including civil and architectural fields.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across different departments.
