Position Summary
Engineered Air is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in De Soto, Kansas. This position is responsible for managing a high-volume accounts payable process in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and timely processing.
The ideal candidate will have significant accounts payable experience within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working in a predominantly paper-based system. This role requires someone who can efficiently match purchase orders, receiving documentation, and vendor invoices, identify discrepancies, follow up with the appropriate departments, and ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
This is a fast-paced position that requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing a high volume of work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match purchase orders, receivers, and invoices to verify accuracy before payment.
- Research and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
- Communicate with Purchasing, Receiving, Accounting, vendors, and other departments regarding invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
- Maintain organized and accurate paper documentation and records.
- Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and processed in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with ensuring vendors are paid accurately and timely.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
- Assist with account reconciliation and other accounting-related duties as needed.
- Meet established deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
- Work collaboratively with the Accounting team and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Significant accounts payable experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience matching purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices in a paper-based environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-volume, paper-intensive accounts payable environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines, including during periods of high workload.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.
- Strong sense of accountability, dependability, and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Accounting experience beyond accounts payable.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial organization.
