Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a variety of remanufacturing aids, including jigs, fixtures, gauges, carts, and racks, using industry-standard CAD software
- Create accurate, complete, and concise 2D and 3D design models, detailed blueprints, and technical drawings for fabrication.
- Work closely with engineers, production managers, and machinists to understand project requirements, gather specifications, and ensure designs are functional and manufacturable.
- Analyze existing tooling and processes to identify faults and opportunities for improvement, implementing design changes to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and perform cost analysis and estimate material requirements for new designs.
- Maintain accurate design documentation, organize drawing files, and ensure all work adheres to company, industry, and safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or certification in computer-aided design, drafting, or a related technical field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in using CAD software, such as Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor is essential.
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer or similar role in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in designing production tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills to address complex design challenges.
