What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Generation/Generator Technician - Full-time position at Engine Energy and Automation, Inc?
The primary duties of this position are to service and maintain natural gas and diesel A/C producing generators and to provide service all John Deere driven OEM products.
Power Generation encompasses 3 trade skills; Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic. We are seeking individuals who are proficient in at least one of the trades mentioned. The ideal candidate will have 3 years previous experience servicing generators. EGSA Certification, Military Training, or an Associates Degree is a plus.
Established electrical contracting company is in need of a full-time Generator Technician starting as soon as possible.
Basic Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Experience with small air cooled engines and diesel and/or gaseous liquid cooled engines including service and repair.
- Electrical experience or general knowledge of wiring diagrams, drawings, and electrical circuits a plus.
- General knowledge of power generation systems a plus.
- High school education or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Great phone skills and friendly customer service attitude.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Professional attitude and ability to work with customers on a one-on-one basis.
Daily tasks include but are not limited to
- Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems ranging from 6 - 2000 kw including changing engine fluids and filters, checking voltage and other electrical tests, performing test transfers to standby power, adjustments or replacement for belts, hoses, cables, batteries, exhaust systems or other components critical to the operation of a generator system.
- Troubleshoot and repair generator systems and transfer switches as needed.
- Perform start-up / commissioning or load bank tests of systems.
- Perform and submit manufacturer warranty repairs.
- Complete and submit electronic dispatch tickets and maintenance reports via tablet.
- Maintain truck parts inventory.
- Maintain or repair occasional portable or towable generator systems.
- Assist as needed for new installations or other duties as required.
- Occasionally travel out of town for training classes and certifications.
Training available for anyone with the right basic skills.
