Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols, ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment to move products safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of orders and inventory levels.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure mechanical reliability.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
- Utilize order pickers for accurate selection of items as per customer orders.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with mechanical operations related to forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
